Today we had the pleasure of welcoming the Bulgarian wrestling star Miroslav Petrov Barnyashev, also known as “Rusev” from WWE or “Miro” from AEW at Agapedia Plovdiv.
Every young person needs a role model that they look up to so we were beyond grateful when Miro quickly agreed to meet and greet teenagers from KSUDS Plovdiv.
We could hardly describe the emotional rollercoaster the teenagers went through after seeing Rusev at Agapedia’s door-it was amazing. They were all left speechless and couldn’t believe their eyes. Some of the kids even looked him up online to make sure that it’s really him. It was surreal that the person that they’ve been admiring for years was now standing next to them.
The boys were eager to learn everything about him and his lifestyle- how does he keep up such a shape, what supplements does he take, etc.
Miro stressed upon the importance of healthy lifestyle and gave examples of some poor choices such as smoking, drugs, alcohol, carbonated and energy drinks, fast food, and how can they affect one’s shape.
There was a discussion about the topics that most excite teenage boys. They wanted to know it all- how was the dream of wrestling born, moreover how did he get to this point in his career. He shared that he has always had a purpose and has worked hard to achieve it. One summer he went to work and travel in USA and decided to stay and fight for his dreams. He had to go through two wrestling schools to get his talent recognized.
Miro talked about some difficulties he encountered and shared his life philosophy that you should always push for more regardless of how tired you are. He shared that if you want to succeed in something, you should always work harder than what is expected of you.
Miro focused on his work ethics when it comes to fighting- how to hit his opponents in a way to win but not to cause them serious injuries.
He encouraged the boys that no mountain is high enough when we work hard and put our trust in Jesus.
Rusev is a big man with a soft and humble heart, thankful to God for his life and career success. It was a pleasure to meet with him and get inspired by him.
